Moonstone  – intuition, love, luck

Moonstone is usually associated with the zodiac signs Cancer, Libra, Scorpio and Pisces.

Description: Moonstone is also known as water opal, fish eye or wolf eye.

History and legends: It has been the subject of legends for centuries. In ancient times it was called selenite.

Almost all ancient cultures believed that the mineral was connected with the Moon. It was often used as a means of attracting love (during the waxing Moon) or predicting the future, most often during the waning Moon. During the Middle Ages, travelers carried Moonstone for protection. They believed the mineral brought happiness in love and luck in gambling. According to them, the best day to wear Moonstone was Monday.

In India, the stone is considered sacred and is placed only on yellow cloth. In India it is called chandra kanta, and it is said that the light of the full Moon gives it magical and occult powers. Moonstone is believed to bring very good luck and to give its wearer the ability to see into the future.

In Asia, too, the stone is considered lucky. According to Asian traditions, it protects travelers, brings success and happiness, especially in love, and also inspires.

If you dream of Moonstone – it means that travel and good health await you. It also symbolizes the unfolding of spiritual and psychic development.

Healing energy: Believed to relieve stress and tension. Said to cleanse the lymphatic system and balance the stomach, pancreas and pituitary gland. It may help reduce swelling and eliminate excess bodily fluids.

The stone is often used in traditional practices for various “women’s ailments” and childbirth.

Qualities: It is interesting to note that each person is said to need to work with Moonstone personally in order to understand when it works best for them – during the waxing or waning Moon. The magical or divinatory practice one intends to use it for is also considered important. The stone is said to change its luster according to the phases of the Moon – becoming lighter during the waxing Moon and full Moon, and darker during the waning Moon and new Moon.

Moonstone is believed to balance emotions by calming overly intense reactions.

It is said to soften inflexibility and strengthen emotional ties with the Higher Self. It helps a person see all possibilities and let go of limiting beliefs. It removes emotional blocks between lovers and helps them communicate better.

The stone is believed to bring wealth and sharpen intuition – especially intuition associated with prediction. It is considered particularly suitable for women because it helps establish a connection with the Goddess and with the feminine aspect of human nature. In men (and women), it is said to help open the doors to the subconscious for those who truly wish to achieve high spiritual development, while keeping them closed to people who are not ready for it. It facilitates contact with your guides. Use it to recall spiritual experiences from past incarnations.

This mineral is also known for revealing the truth behind illusions and is said to help uncover the masks of secret or hidden enemies.
