Rock Crystal – the Crystal of Clarity, Harmony and Light

Rock crystal is associated with Leo, Gemini and Capricorn, but because it interacts well with many crystals, minerals and stones, it is suitable for almost all zodiac signs.

Deposits: Russia, India, Brazil and other countries; in Bulgaria, some of the finest specimens are found along the Arda River

Color: colorless and water-clear, often with cloud-like, needle-like or hair-like inclusions

Rock crystal is colorless quartz and is also known as Clear Quartz, Rock Quartz and Crystal Quartz. It also has a colorless and transparent variety known as rock crystal. In the past, people believed that rock crystal was actually ice. The finest rock crystals have the clarity and brilliance of crystal-clear water. Quartz is considered extremely useful for healing, during meditation, and for spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Rock crystal forms well-shaped six-sided crystals, often grown together in beautiful druses or aggregates. It resembles topaz.

History and legends:

From Antiquity to the Middle Ages, people believed that rock crystal was petrified ice. Because it was found in many places, numerous legends arose around it.

Miners believed that gods and spirits lived in palaces made of rock crystal. To this day, some Native American traditions place it as a sacred stone in a newborn child’s cradle. Buddhists are said to use this mineral during meditation to attain enlightenment. Ritual objects made from it – spheres, eggs, cups and others – have been especially highly valued.

Healing properties:

One of the strongest minerals traditionally used for protection from bioenergetic interference. A small unpolished crystal is carried in a pocket or bag. Placed on the forehead energy center, it is believed to help dispel visions and intrusive thoughts.

Rock crystal is believed to have a stimulating effect on the whole body. It can be combined with all minerals. Placed preventively on the heart energy center for 10 minutes every morning and evening, it is traditionally believed to support emotional balance. Held in the hand, it is said to have a calming effect in stressful situations.

Rock crystal is also traditionally associated with beneficial effects on paralyzed parts of the body and wounds; the affected areas or the areas around them are massaged slowly and carefully. For minor burns, it is placed immediately on the affected area.

The magnetic vibrations attributed to this mineral in its natural form are believed to bring the life energy of the people around it into harmony. Its perfect crystal lattice is traditionally said to provide powerful protection from negative energies in the place where it is kept.
